The Union are back in MLS action Sunday night against New York Red Bulls. The Eastern Conference clash will be nationally televised (Fox Sports 1, 7 p.m.) and could present both teams with an opportunity to leap into first place.
That, of course, will depend on NYCFC’s result earlier in the day against Montreal, but the mid-July match will be important nonetheless. After dropping two consecutive league games for the first time this season, the Union emphatically bounced back with a 3-0 win against D.C. United last Saturday. Now they have an opportunity to win a second straight league game for just the second time this season – and to create some separation in the Eastern Conference table.
