Tonny Temple had a hat trick, Marcelo Mazzola scored four goals playing back down with his age group and Patrick Bohui had a brace to lead their respective Philadelphia Union Academy teams to shutout wins over local rival Continental FC last Saturday.
Continental’s U13 team was able to score a 1-0 win thanks to a Jaden Francis goal in the 26th minute, but the three older age groups were all shut out by 4-0 score lines at the U19, U17 and U14 and 3-0 at the U15 level.
The score lines don’t tell the full story though as the rivalry between the two development partners is always a hard fought contest between players very familiar with each other and who in some cases are former teammates and classmates at YSC Academy.
