Takeaways: Steel FC takes positives from experience gained in preseason
Bethlehem Steel FC returned this week from a preseason road trip involving scrimmages against three professional teams. Despite three losses during the trip, Steel FC Head Coach Brendan Burke notes that there were positives to take away from the scrimmages.
“I thought last week was a really important week for us. Although on paper the results didn’t look great, I think we got a lot of important experience for guys as young as 15 years old. The Richmond [Kickers] game, in particular, stands out in my head, where we went mostly a mixture of the [Union Academy] U17 team and U19 team,” said Burke.
