We’ve prefaced it all year long, but the truth is that it is still early on in the MLS season. Regardless, the Union are back on top of the Eastern Conference thanks to the 2-0 win over NYCFC, coupled with Montreal’s 2-0 loss to Toronto FC. Of course, with the fifth-placed D.C. United just three points behind the Union, there’s no reason to celebrate anything before the calendar even flips to May.
But, these seven games do count. And the Union are in first.
The 4-3-0 start is the club’s best since 2011 when Peter Nowak’s team went 4-2-1.
