Stanford and North Carolina punched their tickets to the College Cup with wins on Saturday night and will join Akron and Indiana in college soccer’s final four this weekend in Chester.
Two-time defending champions Stanford advanced to the College Cup for the third straight year with a 2-0 win over familiar foe Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Cardinal will face Akron in one semifinal while North Carolina takes on Indiana in the other.
Stanford got the better of the Demon Deacons for the third straight year in the tournament after topping Wake Forest in the 2016 College Cup on a penalty shootout and edging them in the quarterfinal in 2015.
