Sons Of Ben celebrated their 10 year anniversary during the 2017 season, and without the group, there would not have been soccer in Philadelphia. The group is responsible for showcasing just how passionate and deserving of soccer Philadelphia was by attending MLS games in support of a team that didn't exist. Just a year after the group's formation, Philadelphia was awarded an expansion franchise.
To celebrate the group's 10th anniversary, the Union held Sons of Ben Appreciation Night in the team's 3-1 victory against FC Dallas.
