Sergio Santos suspended one game by MLS Disciplinary Committee

Brazilian forward Sergio Santos will be missing Sunday’s game, as the Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee has announced a one game suspension and a fine. The ruling comes from the Union’s game last Thursday against Orlando City. In the 56’ minute of the match Santos kicked a ball towards the stands.

That acton violates the league’s policy regarding throwing or kicking objects towards the fans. This means the Philadelphia Union will be without the forward when they take on Chicago Fire FC at Subaru Park.

With Jamaica being bounced from the Gold Cup, we should see both Cory Burke and Andre Blake back in the lineup for Jim Curtin Sunday night.
