Sapong ends brace drought with dynamic first half performance

It had been two years since the last time the Union had braces in back-to-back games. It had been even longer since that last time forward C.J. Sapong had done it.

That ended Sunday afternoon as the Union defeated New England Revolution 3-0 behind a pair of first-half goals from Sapong and a stopped time clincher from Sebastien Le Toux. It wound up as the Union’s largest win since July 11 of last year.

“Feels good to open the account – I’m always extra critical, I could have had four today,” Sapong said.
