In the club's match against defending USL Cup Champions Louisville City FC, Romero turned in a spectacular performance that has earned him a nomination for the USL Championship Save of the Week.
Romero was called upon nine times in the second half and made 11 saves overall to shut out LouCity 1-0 for the Steel's first all-time victory over the Kentucky side. Romero's performance earned him national recognition and was named as USL Championship's Player of the Week.
