Report: Union in discussions to transfer Matt Freese to NYCFC

The Philadelphia Union may be moving on from longtime goalkeeper Matt Freese, according to Tom Bogert of mlssoccer.com.

The Union is finalizing a move to send Freese to New York City FC, where he would be able to compete for a starting role with the club.

Freese, 24, is a Union homegrown but stuck behind Andre Blake, a three-time MLS Goalkeeper of the Year, for minutes. Made 13 MLS regular season appearances over four seasons.
