Report: Alejandro Bedoya won’t be punished by the league for on-field gun violence message

Alejandro Bedoya will not see a fine for his on-field message about gun violence in Washington D.C. on Sunday night, according to a report in the New York Times.

The report notes that the league held a meeting on Monday morning about the incident involving the Philadelphia Union captain and decided to not issue a fine or suspension.

Bedoya, who tweeted earlier in the day about shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, scored in the third minute and grabbed a field mic to send Congress a message to “end gun violence now.
