Rayshaun McGann makes U.S. U17 cut for Mexico tournament

Philadelphia Union Academy defender Rayshaun McGann was named to United States U17 head coach John Hackworth’s roster for the 2016 Torneo de Naciones, set to set to take place Aug. 22-29, in Mexico City, Mexico.

McGann, 16, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, was one of 20 players named to the team from a recent training camp in Utah. It’s his second tournament of the summer with the U17s after helping guide them to the title match of the 2016 AIFF Youth Cup in India in May.

It’s also his second trip to Mexico City this month after playing with the Philadelphia Union U16 team in the LIGA Bancomer MX International Tournament in early August.
