A team performance with contributions from a number of players who haven’t been regulars in the starting XI this season helped finally snap a year-long road losing streak in Montreal on Saturday.
Cory Burke scored a goal in his first MLS start, but also got himself sent off with an ill-advised challenge. Ray Gaddis registered a rare shot on goal (just the sixth of his career) and assisted on Burke’s goal while also playing well on defense. The back line, anchored by 19-year-olds Auston Trusty and Mark McKenzie, had one of its best performances of the season, particularly the work McKenzie and Keegan Rosenberry did on Ignacio Piatti.
