Individual training
There aren't many moments in a season when technical staffs can focus on the individual. Training sessions go toward being prepared for that week's opponent(s). But when a team is in an international break, Head Coach Jim Curtin said that gave the Union the chance to work on individual skills to help players get better in certain aspects of their game. This, in turn, helps the team get better when training returns to whomever the Union take on that week.
"It's good to have time on the training fields with the guys," Curtin said.
