Ilsinho joined Philadelphia Union on February 24, 2016, as a Discovery Signing. The Brazilian international has shown flash in his first two seasons in MLS, increasing his goals, starts, assists and minutes played from his first to second year in the league. In his first two seasons with Philadelphia, Ilsinho has appeared in 52 matches, while starting 38 of them. Ilsinho has tallied eight goals and seven assists while logging over 3,100 minutes. Unfortunately Ilsinho had his preseason cut short after suffering an injury in Clearwater, Florida in an extended training session with Orlando City SC. Ilsinho was sent back to Philadelphia for further evaluation.
