The Union defense could not hold Saturday night as they conceded three times against their rival the Red Bulls. The Union endured a 25 minute spell in the first half where they held just 23% of possession. They cracked at the end of the first half allowing Kljestan a wide open chance to knot the score at 1-1. In the second half the Red Bulls showed what a truly diverse striker brings to an attack as Bradley Wright-Philips split the central defense following a long ball and easily beat a helpless Andre Blake. But it was defensive midfielder Dax McCarty who put the dagger in with the decisive goal.
