Philadelphia Union send first round MLS SuperDraft pick to DC United, swap allocation position

Union acquire higher position in 2020 Allocation Ranking plus future considerations in exchange for first round pick in 2020 MLS SuperDraft

CHESTER, Pa. (January 9, 2020)– Philadelphia Union announced today that the club has acquired D.C United’s spot in the Allocation Ranking in exchange for the Union’s Natural 1st Round SuperDraft Pick. The Union will now occupy the 17th spot in the Allocation Ranking, while D.C United will move to the 21st. In addition, Philadelphia will also receive future considerations from D.C.

“As was the case in 2019, we’re committed to focusing on our academy pipeline as our primary source of cultivating young talents such as Jack de Vries and Cole Turner,” said Ernst Tanner, Union Sporting Director.
