Philadelphia Union re-sign Charlie Davies

Per a press release, the Philadelphia Union have re-signed forward Charlie Davies to a one-year contract. While the terms of the deal were not released, Davies was making just over $113,000 in 2016. Davies made eight appearances for the Union, logging 81 minutes as he fought his way back from battling liposarcoma - a cancer that affects fat cells.

“We are thrilled to have Charlie back for the 2017 season,” Sporting Director Earnie Stewart said in the press release. “It will be great to have Charlie from the start with a full preseason around our club and we’re looking forward to what he can bring to our team for an entire season.
