Philadelphia Union Name Ernst Tanner as Club’s New Sporting Director
Tanner joins Union following 24 years of experience in Germany and Austria with TSV 1860 Munich, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Red Bull Salzburg;

CHESTER, Pa. (August 9, 2018) – Philadelphia Union announced today the hiring of Ernst Tanner as the club’s Sporting Director. Tanner, 51, is a native of Traunstein, Germany and comes to Philadelphia following 24 years of technical experience with three European clubs: TSV 1860 Munich, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Red Bull Salzburg.
