Philadelphia Union fell to New York Red Bulls 2-0 in front of a crowd of 17,720 at Talen Energy Stadium on Sunday evening. The loss drops Philadelphia’s record to 4-7-4 in 2017. The Union are back in action next Saturday when they host D.C. United. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
The Union saw a great opportunity in the 22nd minute thanks to the hustle of Chris Pontius. The veteran was able to win a 1 v 1 battle in the box and found possession of the ball in front of Red Bull goalkeeper Luis Robles.
Pontius settled the ball on his right and sent an attempt that seemed destined for the back of the net.
