Philadelphia Union fall to New York City FC as Adam Najem makes his MLS debut and Jack Elliott makes his first MLS start

Philadelphia Union fell to New York City FC Friday night in front of a crowd of 16,553 at Talen Energy Stadium with a final score of 2-0. The Union will be back in action next Saturday to wrap up their three-match homestand as they take on Montreal Impact.

Philadelphia traded opportunities with New York in the first 20 minutes of the contest. The Union saw their best chance through the first 20 from Roland Alberg who made his first start of the season. After a touch from CJ Sapong, Alberg sent a shot that whistled just wide of the net.
