Philadelphia Union fell to Atlanta United 3-0 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Wednesday night. The loss drops Philadelphia to 9-13-9 on the season. The Union will return to action this Sunday afternoon when they take on the defending MLS Cup champion Seattle Sounders FC at Talen Energy Stadium.
Atlanta came out of the gates with an offensive approach in front of their home crowd of 43,006. Atlanta's offense peppered Union goalkeeper Andre Blake, who was forced to make multiple highlight reel saves in the first half. Blake finished with seven saves on the night.
The home team finally broke through in the 27th minute after rookie Julian Gressel slipped though the Union defense and found the back of the net.
