Philadelphia Union Clinch Playoff Berth For Second Time In Club History

Philadelphia Union clinched a playoff berth for just the second time in club history on Sunday afternoon in front of a crowd of 18,500 at Talen Energy Stadium. Philadelphia finished the 2016 campaign with an 11-14-9 record, good for sixth in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia will head north of the border on Wednesday to take on Toronto in the knockout round of the MLS playoffs.

The 2016 season saw records shattered by Philadelphia. The club earned eight wins at Talen Energy Stadium, the most in club history. Rookie defender and MLS All-Star Keegan Rosenberry played every minute in 2016, his 3,060 minutes played are the most by a rookie in MLS history.
