Philadelphia Union assists with seventh annual "Coats for Chester"

Earlier this year, Philadelphia Union assisted the Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Hall of Fame in conducting its seventh annual "Coats for Chester" event, benefitting needy families in the Chester area. A grand total of 2,130 warm winter coats were collected this fall and distributed from the soccer community throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region for this cause.

The coats were given to three social service agencies -- all within the City of Chester -- who handled their distribution: God’s House of Glory Haven of Peace Church, the St. Katharine Drexel Food Cupboard and the City Team Ministries Homeless Shelter.

The program has grown over the years and has now donated over 11,000 coats to the community.
