Philadelphia Union acquire Taylor Washington with twenty-third pick in 2016 MLS SuperDraft

With the twenty-third pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, the Philadelphia Union select defender Taylor Washington from George Mason University.

The Philadelphia Union have selected defender Taylor Washington from George Mason University with the twenty-third overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. Washington played his freshman year at Boston college before transferring to George Mason in 2013. During his four year career, he played in 71 games, starting all but five.

Washington is a 5'10" left back, and it's not out of the realm of possibility that he could challenge Fabinho for the left back role - however he will most likely be a depth option, getting professional minutes with Bethlehem Steel FC.
