Cory Burke last played for the Philadelphia Union 18 months ago against the Montreal Impact and on Monday the Union traded $50,000 in general allocation money to the Impact in order to make Burke eligible to play again.
Burke had his visa revoked last April after returning to Jamaica to complete a green card process that would have negated the need for an international roster spot but after finally finalizing a visa to return to the U.S. he’s still in need of an international spot.
The Union’s acquisition of the spot from Montreal gives them nine spots for the remainder of the season.
