The Philadelphia Union yet lose yet again, this time to hated rival New York City FC. The Union had a number of good chances with movement and getting the ball into dangerous areas in the first half, but they were unable to convert in the final third. Alejandro Bedoya had the best chance of the first half, but a great Sean Johnson save kept it scoreless.
The second half was a different story, as the Union came out flat and did not have many good chances. In the 52nd minute, NYCFC got the break they needed as Jack Harrison slid one past Andre Blake to make it 1-0.
