Officially Official: Union lose their way into playoffs

On Sunday evening, the Philadelphia Union officially became a playoff team for the first time since 2011. Despite the feat, boos filled the rapidly emptying stadium after the final whistle. Though the Union finally clinched a spot in the playoffs, they did so with a 2-0 loss to their I-95 rivals, the New York Red Bulls. Bradley Wright-Phillips and Alex Muyl got the goals for the Red Bulls, with the former scoring his 24th goal to secure the Golden Boot.

Perhaps it was a fitting end to a regular season that saw the Union begin an unrelenting nosedive in mid-July.
