New-look Union will try to break slump

Lost in the flurry of moves the Union made on the final day of Major League Soccer's transfer window Wednesday is the fact that the team is looking to turn its season around during its worst prolonged stretch.

In are U.S. national team midfielder Alejandro Bedoya and forward Charlie Davies, who owns 17 caps with the U.S. team. Gone is the Union's all-time leading scorer, Sebastien Le Toux, who was traded to Colorado.

Now that all the wheeling and dealing is completed, the Union have to refocus for the final 12 games of their 34-game season.

What once appeared to be a tight grip on a playoff spot has loosened considerably.
