Major League Soccer wins Sports League of the Year honor at 2020 Sports Business Awards

Major League Soccer was recognized as Sports League of the Year during the 2020 Sports Business Awards, among the most prestigious honors in the sports industry.

MLS, which also won the award in 2008 and 2016, claimed this year's honor ahead of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), National Football League (NFL) and Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), the other finalists for the award.

MLS has expanded more than any other global sports league over the last decade and that continued during 2019 with more fans consuming MLS than ever before. The league announced new expansion teams, bringing the total number of clubs to 30, all while the valuation of existing MLS clubs has continued to rise exponentially to record highs.
