Philadelphia Union have a chance to pull even on points with sixth place Montreal if they can grab a win on the road and leapfrog Chicago Fire on Wednesday night.
The Fire went undefeated in June following a loss to Philadelphia at the end of May. But after two wins and three draws, Veljko Paunovic’s squad fell to Kei Kamara and Vancouver Whitecaps to open their July schedule on Saturday.
But after starting the year 2-4-1 at home, the Fire are 2-0-1 in their last three matches at Toyota Park. Better yet, 2017 Golden Boot winner Nemanja Nikolic is scoring again after a five-game streak without a tally.
