Kevin Kratz never made it off of Atlanta United’s bench in their 2-0 win over the Portland Timbers in the MLS Cup final on Saturday night, but his status as a former Philadelphia Union player only grew with this latest achievement.
The German veteran (he and teammate Julian Gressel were the first German to win an MLS Cup) spent only three months on the books with the blue and gold and never featured in a match. But he’s a former Union player nonetheless and just the second to dress in a final for the MLS Cup champion after leaving the club.
