John McCarthy capped off a career performance by being named the Allstate Defensive Play of the Match for his save in the 50th minute.
FC Dallas's Cristian Colman broke through the Union defense, and McCarthy came off the line to make the save. It was one of nine saves of the match, setting a new career-high for him. It was also the most saves by a Union keeper in 2017, and the most since Andre Blake stopped 10 shots against New England Revolution in 2015.
McCarthy's nine saves gave him 26 on the season, which set a new career-high for a single season in his career.
