The Union put on a show for the final game of the 2017 season, with the stars being Ilsinho, Fafa Picault and CJ Sapong. And all three of them were named to the MLS Team of the Week.
Sapong's day was highlighted by his third multi-goal game of the season, where he also broke the Union's single season goal record. In the 26th minute, Picault and Sapong broke into the final third on a two-on-one. Picault, inside the box, sent a cross over to Sapong, where he had a wide-open net. He buried the shot for his 15th goal of the season, surpassing Sebastien Le Toux's record of 14 goals in a single season.
