On March 31, San Jose hosted New York City FC in an inter-conference matchup but were unable to walk away with three points on their home turf. The first half looked promising for the Quakes when they opened up scoring in the 3rd minute of play with a header from Yeferson Quintana. The club entered the half up 1-0 against the east coast team.
NYCFC fired back in the second half of action, starting in the 49th minute when Anton Tinnerholm equalized the score.
