Selected in the fourth round by the Union, Elliott played four seasons at West Virginia, serving as the team’s captain his final season. Serving as a holding mid, Elliott wasn’t known for scoring in bunches, but did manage to notch six goals and five assists as a Mountaineer. What he was known for was his defensive ability, and was a major reason for the team’s 750-minute shutout streak during the season.
Morgantown to MLS
Being selected by the Union, Elliott became the 11th West Virginia alumnus to be drafted into MLS. Of those 11 players, nine were coached by Marc Leblanc.
