The top of the Eastern Conference meets the top of the Western Conference on Saturday as the Philadelphia Union square off against the Colorado Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. This is the first meeting for the two sides in 2016, and the first match to be played in Colorado since the Union won there on the road 2-1 on March 9, 2013.
The Union enter Saturday’s match on short rest, having played in MLS’ lone midweek match that resulted in a 2-2 draw with Orlando City. After a first half penalty kick save from Andre Blake, Swiss midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta netted his third MLS goal in the 52nd minute to put the Union ahead.
