With only a few games left in the regular season, now more than ever every match matters for the Union, even ones they are not playing in.
Lesser of two evils
Second place New York Red Bulls host fifth place Montreal Impact on Saturday night at Red Bull Arena. If the Red Bulls win, they will advance to 48 points on the season and start to further separate themselves from the teams beneath them, giving the Union a bigger gap to catch up to.
On the other side, if Montreal is able to win on the road they will advance to 41 points on the year and depending on the Union’s outcome, could see themselves tied in points with Philly by the end of the weekend.
