Elliott becomes first fourth rounder from 2017 SuperDraft to see playing time

MLS defenders are known for their iron man streaks, playing all 90 minutes game in and game out and rarely needing subs. During the Union’s contest against DC United on Saturday, it just so happened that an injury forced Philadelphia to make an early substitution.

Richie Marquez, one of Philadelphia’s center backs, left the game at halftime and entered concussion protocol after a collision with goalkeeper Andre Blake. His injury made way for Jack Elliott.
