Philadelphia Union earned a 2-0 road win against Montreal Impact this past weekend at Stade Saputo Stadium in Canada. In the club’s win, first year MLS man Cory Burke had an eventful starting debut for the Union.
Burke had appeared in seven matches prior to his first career start on Saturday. In those seven appearances off the bench, the striker had logged 99 minutes and recorded an assist.
Burke earned the starting opportunity after CJ Sapong was unable to dress in the 18, due to injury that he suffered against Columbus Crew SC earlier in the week.
