The long wait for Philadelphia Union striker Cory Burke’s return is finally nearing its end.
Head coach Jim Curtin said Tuesday that the Jamaican international was “in transit.”
“He is about to be in Philadelphia, which is the most positive news I can give for quite some time,” Curtin said. “Until I see his face I cannot confirm or deny he is in Philadelphia.”
Burke last played for the Union on April 20, 2019. He has 12 goals in 36 MLS appearances.
In 2019, Burke returned to his home country of Jamaica, and eventually got stuck in the country over visa issues.
