Clint Dempsey embraces his veteran role on the U.S. men’s national team but not in the traditional sense. He is not one to start a conversation about his experiences or to go on and on about lessons he learned.
“I’m not the guy to try and say, ‘Hey, come here, let me tell you something,’ ” Dempsey said. “If people want to talk about things, then I’ll talk with them, but we just joke around mainly.”
Dempsey leads by example. And if you tuned in to see the 33-year-old forward play earlier this week, it is easy to see what younger players can learn just by watching.
