Philadelphia Union's roster is filled with National Team leaders for their respective countries. CJ Sapong, who was last called up for the United States Men's National Team in January, fulfilled his role for the Red, White and Blue.
Sapong was called up to the USMNT annual January training camp and competed in an international friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina. He started in the match and was his fourth cap, but walked away with a 0-0 draw against current Union teammate Haris Medunjanin.
In November 2017, he earned his third career cap for the US in the team's international friendly against Portugal.
