CJ Sapong has been one of the more productive strikers in the league to start off the season, as his three goals lead the Union and is tied for sixth in MLS with goals scored. His three-game goal streak was snapped last week against Portland, which was the second-longest stretch of his career. Sapong has done so as both a super sub and starter, and Head Coach Jim Curtin said he'll be ready to start a new streak against New York City FC on Friday night.
"We have three good forwards in Charlie Davies, Jay Simpson and CJ Sapong, and all of them are capable of scoring goals," Curtin said.
