The Union's depth and resolve will be tested when they visit the Montreal Impact on Saturday with first place in the Eastern Conference on the line.
Montreal (4-3-3, 15 points) holds a one-point lead on both the Union (4-3-2) and Toronto (4-3-2). But both second-place teams own a game in hand on the Impact.
The Impact should be well rested after a wild 4-4 tie last Saturday at Columbus in which they overcame a three-goal deficit against the Crew.
The Union, meanwhile, are coming off an exhausting 2-2 draw Wednesday against the Los Angeles Galaxy at Talen Energy Stadium.
