This past season filled Philadelphia Union supporters with optimism surrounding the future. Yet an announcement, shortly after the campaign concluded, also gave fans of the club a reason to look back.

Conor Casey, one of the more memorable players in Union history and a consummate fan favorite, announced his retirement after an illustrious professional career that included 10 seasons in Major League Soccer as well as topflight experience in Germany and 19 caps for the United States Men’s National Team.

The New Hampshire-born forward who now calls the Denver area home retires among the most influential offensive threats the Union have fielded over their seven-season MLS run.
