Brenden Aaronson leaves match in first half with hip injury

The Philadelphia Union’s injury woes continued on Saturday night against New England Revolution when Brenden Aaronson had to leave the match in the first half with a left hip injury.

The 18-year-old homegrown midfielder left the match in the 36th minute and was replaced by Ilsinho. The Medford, N.J. native was making his ninth straight start after dressing but not playing in the first two matches.

Aaronson started at the tip of the diamond since Marco Fabián was out of the lineup again for the fourth straight game. Fabián injured his ankle in the April 13 game against the LA Galaxy and had to leave the match in the 23rd minute.
