The Union head into its first double game week of the season riding a four-game unbeaten streak (2-0-2). However, what's impressive during that unbeaten streak is that it also includes a three-game shutout streak. And much of that shutout streak is attributed to the stellar play of Andre Blake and the backline.
Blake currently sits at 273 consecutive shutout minutes, which is the longest stretch of his career and the second-longest stretch in MLS this season. His three consecutive shutouts is the most in his career, and is a rare feat even in Union history. Back-to-back-to-back shutouts has only happened once before in Union history, when Zac MacMath had three consecutive shutouts in 2012.
