Belief propelled stoppage time winner against D.C. in May; re-match Saturday looms large for both teams

Philadelphia Union return to the friendly confines of Talen Energy Stadium this Saturday when they host D.C. United. This is the second of three matches between the two clubs this season. After Saturday the Eastern Conference foes will meet for the third and final time in D.C. at RFK Stadium on Aug. 6.

The first meeting of the season between these two rivals came on May 20 in MLS’ first featured rivalry night match of the season. The contest was certainly a memorable one for Union fans. Richie Marquez notched his first career goal in stoppage time to secure the 1-0 victory.
