The first day of training in Clearwater saw some beautiful weather for the two-a-day schedule. The bright blue sky and low winds made for strong training sessions at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex.
The team started off at 10 a.m. with warm-ups and soon went into sectioned drills working on passing accuracy, technical touches and finishing. Afterwards, the team partook in small-sided games. Rookies Joshua Yaro and Keegan Rosenberry looked strong in the defense, making important tackles and using their strength to guard the ball. Forward C.J. Sapong also showed his skills in maintaining possession.
The practice ended with shooting, in which Sebastien Le Toux, Fabian Herbers, Eric Ayuk and Sapong tried to find the back of Andre Blake and John McCarthy’s net.
